This refined Lautner edge pool is the focal point of a breathtaking waterfront residence located along the Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington, North Carolina, designed to blur the line between architecture and the surrounding coastal landscape. The coping and deck are detailed as a continuous plane with a concealed overflow, the pool creates the illusion that the water seamlessly disappears into the horizon, offering uninterrupted views and a serene, resort-like experience. Finished in Luna Quartz Martinique (custom) plaster, the pool water takes on a soft, luminous blue that reflects the sky and surrounding waterway, shifting beautifully with the light throughout the day. The integrated spa is thoughtfully positioned within the pool’s geometry, creating a cohesive, sculptural design that enhances both form and function. The pool is framed with Marmiro Crema Oliva coping, which continues into the waterline tile for a subtle, monochromatic transition that emphasizes the pool’s modern elegance and clean detailing. Surrounding the pool, Ipe decking adds warmth and natural texture, providing a striking contrast to the cool wet stone finishes while reinforcing the coastal modern aesthetic.
