Horizon Bend Custom Pool in Wilmington, NC

Set along the serene marshes of Howe Creek in Wilmington, NC, Project Horizon Bend is a stunning blend of modern barnhouse architecture and timeless coastal living. In collaboration with Tongue & Groove, we designed and built Horizon Bend, a custom pool and spa that flow seamlessly with the home’s contemporary aesthetic and natural surroundings.

Raised above the natural grade, Horizon Bend follows the slope of the land, creating a graceful transition toward the marsh while preserving the landscape’s integrity. The materials were carefully selected to reflect a refined yet organic palette: NPT Slate White tile, Marmiro Grano coping, and a custom Luna Quartz Martinique plaster finish. The ipe deck adds warmth and sophistication, tying together the home’s modern design with the tranquility of its waterfront setting.

The outdoor living area extends beyond the pool, offering a protected gathering space where the sights and sounds of nature birdsong, rustling reeds, and the gentle breeze of slat air complete the retreat-like atmosphere. Horizon Bend is more than a pool, it’s a serene escape where contemporary design meets the rhythm of the natural environment.
